Peter M. Toja - President

Peter M. Toja is the president of Economic Planning Associates, Inc. In this capacity, Peter functions as the primary consulting economist to the clients and is responsible for the production of economic overviews and projections as well as the periodic reports covering capital goods, trucks, trailers, and railcars.
Peter's career began in 1966 as junior economist in the Energy Research group of Lionel D. Edie & Co., an economic consulting firm. By 1969, his research responsibilities had extended to energy, non-ferrous metals, and steel at which time he was appointed the youngest vice president in the history of Lionel D. Edie.
During the period of 1969-1976, Peter headed the energy, machine tool, and metals groups at Edie and was instrumental in the corporate planning functions of many major industrial client companies.
After the acquisition of Lionel D. Edie by Merrill Lynch and Co., Peter was appointed vice president of Merrill Lynch Economics, Inc. and became manager of research for the Energy, Capital Goods, and Freight Transportation groups. During his tenure at Merrill Lynch, Peter not only supervised the research of the three groups under him, but also maintained a consulting relationship with client companies.
Economic Planning Associates is a well recognized consulting firm in the transportation equipment area. For the last 25 years Mr. Toja has been the keynote speaker at the Annual Forecasting Conference of the American Railway Car Institute. From 1985 through 2004, Peter was the keynote speaker at the Truck Trailers Manufacturers' Association annual meeting, and from 1988 through 2003, Peter was the consulting economist to the Association for Manufacturing Technology.
